Just a short stroll from Canalta Lodge, the Cave and Basin National Historic Site is where Canada’s national parks system began. Step into the cave where three railway workers first found the hot springs in 1883, breathe in the mineral steam, and wander the boardwalk trails at your own pace.

Walk, grab one of our rental bikes, or hop the bus (just ask the front desk!); however you get there, it’s one of Banff’s must-sees, and one of the closest to home.
